Gam Phaeng Ngam
One of the ministries of The Family Connection Foundation is the Gam Phaeng
Ngam English Project. This project started with English classes, which continue to this day. These classes are an opportunity to reach out to the community and earn their trust. We have now begun sponsoring scholarships for several of the young ladies who attend these classes to allow them to go to a better quality school, instead of the temple schools they were previously attending. We are also working on community development, and the people in this poor inner city community are finally showing interest in breaking the cycle of poverty that has plagued them for generations. We also use this opportunity to share the love of
Christ, both in action and in word.
Kham Siri
Kham Siri was started in a different part of the city, where the cycle of poverty is also well established. It started with a children's program and English teaching, but now has progressed to also include weekly Bible teaching, teaching German, and community development. The people of this community have embraced this project as their own, and many of the families have been impacted positively. In many cases whole families have come to faith in Christ. The best testament to the impact of this ministry comes from a sign made by a person from the community that was not a believer. A lady wrote out a sign for families to find the children's program that translates, "A place where children are looked after and loved."
